Welcome to the North West Training Consortium website. I do hope
that you will find the information here accessible and useful to
your needs.
One
of nine regional training consortia across England and Wales, the
North West Consortium was established in 1998 as a collaborative
arrangement between the Probation Areas of Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire,
Manchester and Merseyside. Initially its main purpose was to develop
and implement the new qualifying training arrangements for Probation
Officers but we are now involved in a wide range of Learning and
Development activities in collaboration with Probation Area Training
Departments. We also offer a range of NVQs through our Regional
NVQ Assessment Centre.
In these pages you will find information about:
- Probation officer training and how to apply to become a trainee
probation officer.
- the regional NVQ Assessment Centre. Currently we offer NVQs
in Community Justice, Learning and Development and Management,
as well as the NVQ Assessor and Verifier Awards.
- ways in which we support the training and development of probation
staff, including managers, across the North West region.
- links to other related sites.
So, whatever your reason for visiting this site, whether you are
interested in training to be a Probation Officer, NVQs or any of
the other services we offer, I hope that you enjoy your visit and
find what you are looking for.
Please feel free to contact us if you would like more information
about anything on this website.
